Musicarium

A retreat, a mystical place, where the viewer is welcomed in the twilight; carpets and cushions on the floor are an open invitation to sit freely as though one was on a beach or in a Mosque. A presence detector ignites the didactic-spectacular device – didactic, because one at a time each instrument, hanging from the ceiling, illuminates on entering the scene. An illuminated device corresponds its sound, edited and optimised by Tax, a new precious collaborator of mine, former guitarist with band Negazione. Just about the time to assemble eyes and ears together, instrument and sound, and five windows, designed by Mollino, turn into visual sources, curated by another city’s remarkable character and ten-year collaborator of mine, Claudio Paletto. These images link to the music emitted by each instrument.
