LUCE NERA

The works presented by the gallery are the result of the artist's reflection on the creative potential of black light, or Wood's light, adapted to the structure of the spider web - an exceptional example of "geometric-architectural organization" in nature. Hence the luminous tracks, upon which light and darkness, skillfully conveyed through space and within self-defined limits, constantly evoke new visual suggestions.
The lights going on and off in the space that houses the exhibition are not an effect, but a technical action that alters the perception of the luminous tracks, and of space. Being able to clearly see the works is as important as removing them from sight, just like the spider web is important for the fact that it is there even when natural light conditions make it invisible.
For these works, the black light is like a nocturnal sun - it's what makes them visible, whereas the white light is the cloud that, in obscuring the sun, almost effaces them.
