Incisioni a Jamson Bay

Exercises in Style
To leave tracks and marks on the earth and then collect a stone, a shell, dry seaweed as in an exchange, give-and-take gestures the artist repeats during his travels in guise of an intimate and ancient lay rituality. Ferrero takes, moves, modifies and leaves in the acting space his token, his mark, which sometimes is ephemeral and other times permanent. An exchange, a barter which becomes conversation between the man and what surrounds him in that moment. To relate to a place, trying to fit in or to bicker with things, animals, but even with natural expressions which are nothing else but the language of the existing, is what the artist constantly pursues. From time to time, he pushes as far as a an element involvement (sea, sun, rain, snow, wind etc.) that participate in and essentially determine the visual writing, by then not only his own.
For years, has Richi Ferrero carried out this ritual during his travels across the world, but only of late has he started documenting his exercises in style.
